The faculty, students and alumni of Don Bosco Imphal remembers Sir Edwin

With Love and Gratitude

Though you have left us, you are still within our hearts
Though you have left us, you are still within our souls.

Our palms are all open again today to bear your cane's hit.
It's been years that we have not gotten it.

It brought tears to our eyes, but you dried them up the next moment,
With your Compassionate heart, soothing words and sweet stories.

You have tied our shoes and moulded us into what we are today.

Time may come; time may go but the role that you have played
And the Lessons that you have taught us stand still with us all along the way.

We owe you a lot for the path of Discipline which you have shown to us,
We owe you a lot for the seed of punctuality that you have sown in us.

We had loved you, we love you and we will always love you Dear Sir.

Today we have come again to attend your Mathematics Class.
We are yearning to hear your Moral Lessons.

Please look at us. We still need you.

I remember him with his large cane he use to bring with him. Our class was just next to staff room and he was always there when there was any noise to punish those who were responsible. Had borne so many beatings from him, yet wished that he be the class teacher in KG too. From the moment i interacted with him, i liked him for his strictness and discipline in life. He was always there in time. He had opened a new boarding nearby in Chingmeirong and some students also stayed there. ...
He was a man of descipline and a soft heart at the same time. He used to read us stories from small story books during recess time or when there was no teacher for that class. I used to tremble going to the staff room thinking he will be there. That was not fear but my dure respect for him,I realize. He has been with the school through ups and downs of time. He has always been with us, with the school through all these years now. He has been with us through the bad times..when school had to be closed for naharol activity.. he was there when school had reached its prime. He was there when school had lost its glory... though all phases of life.he has been a faithful teacher and guide to us and school. We all are indebted to him for what he has done for us..and what he has gone through for us.
Time flies so fast that we hardly find time to trace back to our origins. He was there in school when i went last time (in May). Had a brief meeting with him.
The last time I had interacted with him was a few months ago in school. I had shown him my KG class foto , with him as class teacher. He was shocked and happy at the same time and gasped telling me this," My God! You kept this foto for many years!" He was so happy to know that we still remember him and love him.
It was all i could do for him, i guess. .. make him realize that we are remembering him despite so many years and distances between us.

Sir, thank you so much for you dont know what you have guiven us in life. We will remain obliged to you for your dedication and love during my stay in school.
Please remember this that we will always keep remembering you in out heart and soul. Your teachings will remain ever imbibed in us forever. We all are previleged to have met you in our lifetime. May your soul rest in peace. Until we meet again in heaven.

Dear Sir Edwin,

Tonight as you live your beautiful moments, standing at the gateway of Earth and Heaven, take a look at the beautiful memories that will last forever, the difference you have made in the lives of so many of us, the justification of your existence in this world.

From the first class of yours - social studies class of Class 2(1985), to the ringing of the bell at old building, to the assembly's "attention" command you used to give, to the nice smile and talks you used to give every time we met even after we left DBS, your fluent Manipuri, your old friends - Sir John Makabo, Sir Gregory, Madam Lina....

If strictness is a word we were taught in old building, "You" were what strictness was.

THANK YOU SIR.

Quote from "Tuesdays with Morrie" by Mitch Albom for our Dear Teachers:

" Maybe it was a grandparent, or a teacher, or a colleague. Someone older, patient and wise, who understood you when you were young and searching, helped you see the world as a more profound place, gave you sound advice to help you make your way through it.

For us, that person was our teachers, from nearly sixteen years ago. He must be happy seeing from above ...with all of us doing good in our life. Wish if we could go back the time.
